Hello,
I’m reaching out because all my reminders (app) have disappeared as well,
I’m a novice with the Mac system (please keep the explanations as simple as possible: sorry...) but I’m quite persistent ^^
So I followed the instructions and found the stickiesdatabases file (so I didn’t delete it like I thought I would), when I click on it, it opens a text edit file with very little written in it, what should I do at that point?
Normally when I open this file I should see something that resembles my notes in text edit? Because if so, that’s not the case at all... :/
Thank you for the time you’ll give me...
Configuration: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) / Chrome 49.0.2623.112

Hello,
I don’t know which explanations you are referring to...
What I can say is that the stickiesdatabase file is not meant to be opened with TextEdit at all. It is a file that can only be used by the Stickies application.
When you reinstall a Mac OS system from scratch, the content of Stickies is empty. If you want to recover your notes linked to Stickies before reinstalling the system, you need to retrieve the stickiesdatabase file located in your personal user library, place this file somewhere other than on the disk that will be erased, and then reinstall. After the system has been reinstalled, open your personal library and replace the empty stickiesdatabase file with the one that was previously saved elsewhere. This way, when you launch the Stickies application, you will find all your notes intact.
See for example these explanations:

Best regards.

Thank you for your response!
I'm sorry, I was referring to this explanation:
https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-30265345-comment-retrouver-mes-notes-de-l-aide-memoire-qui-ont-disparu
Because my notes from the reminder have disappeared without me understanding why... I haven't deleted anything, nor uninstalled anything, I closed it by left-clicking, quitting, and the next day I had nothing left...
And I was looking for a way to retrieve them. I came across the link I just pasted above, but once I found this stickiesdatabases file, it only offers to open it with textedit, and even then it is practically empty...
I'm not very skilled, I realize that, but usually by following the explanations on forums I manage...
Sorry to take up your time... -
The file "StickiesDatabase" opens with TextEdit because when you double-click it or right-click, it doesn't know which application it's intended for.
You must not double-click on this file. Simply launch the Stickies application, which will look for the content in "StickiesDatabase" and present it with the proper formatting. "StickiesDatabase" is a kind of database. TextEdit can't do anything with it, even if its content is fine.
If launching Stickies does not display the expected notes, or if it is empty, it means the StickiesDatabase file is faulty.
Note: you write "stickiesdatabases" and not "StickiesDatabase"; any spelling mistake means that Stickies will not find its data, so make sure to check the name of this file carefully. AND it must be placed directly at the root of your personal user library and nowhere else.
