YEAR()

Solved

Hello, I don't often use Excel, and here is my problem:
I have different dates in column A (format: day/month/year). In column B, I want to display the corresponding year for each date. So I use the YEAR(A:A) function. However, for some dates, the function works and shows me the year correctly, but for others, I get VALUE#. I can't figure out how to solve the problem
Thank you for your help.
Best regards

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 46.0

Hello,

Select column A / Right click / Format Cells / Alignment / horizontal: general / Ok
Widen the column: everything aligned to the right is a date, and everything aligned to the left is text.

Hello,

It's that it's not a date recognized by Excel.
It's either text or <01/01/1900

By continually trying, we eventually succeed.
So the more it fails, the more chances we have that it works. (the Shadoks)
In addition to the thank you (yes, it happens!!!), remember to mark it as resolved. Thank you

Hello.

... and be careful:
- June 10 2 016 is a text,
- June 10 2.016 is a text,
- June 10 2016 is a date!
