Hello,

So, yesterday I watched a movie ("Everest") on a USB stick through my Sony Blu-ray player BDP-S1200. I've never had any issues with my DVDs and Blu-rays, but yesterday around the middle of the movie, it froze (frozen image) and I couldn't turn off the device with the remote or the button on the front. I had to unplug it. I was able to finish my movie without any further blockage, but I'm a bit worried. What do you think the problem is? The player or the USB stick? I find it strange that my player froze while it wasn't reading a CD. I tried watching the movie on my computer and that part didn't glitch. I'm afraid my device is starting to have trouble reading movies :(

Hello, some readers, adapters, and TVs with PVR "struggle" with USB drives due to insufficient write/read speed, especially in HD, so it's better to use an external hard drive.

ah ok. Thank you for your response Andy, so no worries for my reader regarding the DVD/BR? I'm probably worrying for nothing but since I still have my warranty, I ask just in case ;)

So give it a try with a hard drive, you never know, maybe it has a problem and since it's still under warranty...
