Hello,
I just acquired a Samsung BDP 1600 Blu-ray player and I also bought the Blu-ray Underworld 3.
The problem is that Underworld 3 doesn't work. As a result, I bought another Blu-ray (Terminator Salvation) to check if it was the player or the Blu-rays.... Results: it still didn't work. So, I proceeded to exchange the player. Terminator plays, but Underworld 3 still doesn't work.... and after trying to play Underworld, if I put Terminator back... it doesn't work anymore!!!!!
Has anyone got a solution? Before I throw the player out the window?....
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I saw a lot of responses but none tell you how to perform the UPDATE, so here’s how to do it for the BDP-1600
Steps: 1) Go to the Samsung website and search for the update, it’s a ZIP file, as I write, the latest update is from August 28, 2010, I’ll pass the link, it will be simpler
http://www.samsung.com/ca_fr/consumer/tv-video/blu-ray-players/blu-ray-players/BD-P1600/XAC/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support
2) From this site, download the file by clicking on the small zip icon. The file is quite large and takes time.
3) Once on your computer, go to the ZIP folder, open it, a dialog box will prompt you to register your product, refuse.
4) Right-click on the file, click on extract to specified folder I believe, choose where you want to extract the file (the desktop for example).
5) Insert an empty USB flash drive and put the extracted file in it. (It is very important that there is only the file on it, otherwise the update will not work)
6) Turn on your Blu-ray player, wait for the main menu, then insert the USB flash drive; the update may take a few minutes, but all DVDs will play without further manipulation!!
There you go, enjoy your movie!!

Hello. To everyone who has the problem, here is the solution. I contacted Samsung and they have just released an update to fix the issue. I performed this update (on 03/04/10) and great, I can now watch Underworld 3. This update is 2.13 and my player is the Samsung home cinema HT-BD1220.
I hope to help many with my message. Hello everyone. domlam

I had the same problem with Terminator Renaissance, couldn't get it to play, but after looking around, I found a workaround that works: insert the disc into the drive, wait for it to load and crash; then press stop, followed by pressing disc menu, and normally the disc will start!

Hello
I found the problem with mine
it's a Sony Blu-ray
it doesn't recognize any DVDs or CDs anymore either...
here's how
I opened the DVD player's door by pressing eject while holding the door with my hand without letting go, I pressed
eject again and waited a few seconds, I then let go of the door and the player’s door remained open, I pushed it shut with my hand and the player started working again.

Too much controversy over nothing about the Samsung BD3600. Of course, you can watch Terminator: Salvation; you just need to do a little manipulation.
Start the Terminator: Salvation Blu-ray DVD, once the DOWNLOAD BAR has finished, the screen remains black. Press STOP, wait for the black screen to disappear, then press DISC MENU (at the bottom left of the remote). The download bar will start again, once finished wait 5 little seconds and there you go.
Happy New Year!

I am like you, I bought a BD-P1600 in December 2009 and have had numerous problems (very slow to execute, update issues not available on the site, can't watch many Blu-rays including Avatar, very noisy...) I'm fed up so if anyone knows the solution. Additionally, I contacted Samsung by email and they haven't responded. I think I'm going to throw it at the seller who also doesn't care and tells me to wait, but I've been waiting since the day I bought it, which is now 4 months....
Thank you for responding before I lose it.

Hello everyone, I tried this manipulation on my Samsung HT-D-7000, but it doesn't work.
Let me explain: I do the manipulation, I turn on my home cinema and my LG plasma, and I get the NO DISC page, so I can't enter any numbers because once I press enter, it shows no disc. How should I proceed to enter these numbers and press enter, with my TV off or is there a trick?
I updated to 1021 after calling Samsung, but it only reads Blu-rays, no original or burned discs or audio CDs...
Thank you for your help.

Hello, I had the same problem with my BD player P1600. Everything was fine for a month and when I bought "Up" on Blu-ray, I noticed there was no sound on the first chapter. However, after skipping the first chapter, the sound and the rest of the animated film played without any issues. I thought about exchanging the DVD at Carrefour, trying to eliminate the causes of the malfunction. DVD or DVD player? After the exchange, the same result. I was advised to update the firmware online, but I still haven't succeeded. Does anyone have a real solution? Thank you in advance, and happy new year 2010 to everyone.
