Hello, I have a Thomson Hi-Fi system that includes a CD player with all the buttons, etc., a remote control, and two speakers that connect directly.

This morning I wanted to plug it in and listen to music, but no sound is coming from the speakers even though they are connected (through wires directly, without plugs). However, the unit works perfectly; it turns on and off, plays the radio, the CD also spins, etc. But there is no sound...

I tried cutting the wires a bit and reconnecting them, but still nothing; I fiddled with everything and still nothing...

Do you have any advice, or do you know what I can do?

Thank you in advance.

So, it doesn't work, total failure of the amplifier or blown speakers, check if they "speak" by connecting a battery (=> crackling), also see if there might be a blown fuse... but it will probably be necessary to disassemble it.

It's good, there was a fuse that was loose, or rather poorly placed, and it works again now.

Hello,
If I understand correctly, this channel, contrary to the title, works properly in tuner mode but not in CD playback?

No, it works in tuner mode and also in CD playback mode, the problem is that there is no sound coming from the speakers.

Before touching anything, make sure you don't break the equipment.

I know what I'm doing, and the "gear" as you say is in very good condition.
