Conditional highlighting in mail merge

Question

Hello,
I have a mail merge list with an Excel database. This database contains car brands and colors, and I would like the brown or green color to be highlighted in yellow when it is a brown or green 307, but if it is gray, it should not be highlighted. Is this possible to do, and if so, how?

This highlighting should be done in the Word merge document, I suppose?
The answer is NO, to my knowledge.
But maybe m@rina will have a macro to suggest to you ...

Hello

Highlighting is not a formatting mark, so no, that's not possible.

Now, if you agree to swap highlighting for a background color, you can set an IF condition, with the formatting to be applied to the field. There is no code, just apply the format.

Hello,
Thank you for your quick response. I would like to use IF, but I don't know how to do it. My field looks like this:
{MERGEFIELD crépine_s}. There are 3 possibilities: either good, or none, or bad, and I would like that if it is "none" or "bad," it is highlighted in 2 words. I hope to hear back from you, and thank you in advance.

Hello,

Since you only have 3 fields, I would put 3 IF functions:

{IF 1 = "green" "the 2 words to highlight" "a space or nothing at all"}
{IF 1 = "brown" "the 2 words to highlight" "a space or nothing at all"}
{IF 1 = "grey" "the 2 words not to highlight" "a space or nothing at all"}

and I would highlight these first 2 lines in code mode (shift+F9) with the correct colors...
