Copy an Excel table with formatting!! Solved

Hello everyone  Can someone tell me how to copy a table (in Open Office or Excel) while keeping the row and column sizes? Thank you

Hello everyone,

After several unsuccessful searches regarding copy/paste with formatting in Excel, I eventually found a solution by myself...

The issue was that the paintbrush didn’t replicate my original formatting 100%.

Step 1/3:

Copy the source table
Go to your new sheet
Right-click on the cell you’re interested in and select "Paste Special"
You select "Column Width"

Now we already have the right widths...

Step 2/3:

Right-click with your mouse on the starting cell "Paste Special"
Now select "Formulas and Number Formats"

Now our data is in the right cells.

Step 3/3

Right-click with your mouse on the starting cell "Paste Special"
Select "Formats"

And there you go!!!

Hello,

I do it in 2 stages:

1- Copy/Special Paste. Select Formats. OK.
2- Copy/Paste classic.

There may be a more direct method, but I don’t know it. And since it rarely happens that I have to do it, I haven’t looked into it much.

Hi.
First, it should be specified whether the copy should go from Excel to Excel or to another application.
If it's in Excel, there are two methods a and b - (just to show you)
a- 1. Select the table to copy and then select copy
2. Select special paste
3. Format + value + formula
b- 1. Select the sheet where the table is
2. Right-click on the tab and select (move or copy) and if you want to create a backup copy, check the box to create a copy and select the workbook where you want to copy it and click OK.

Thank you for your responses, but the problem is that when I paste (normally or specially), the line heights are fine, but the column widths are not... What to do?

When I need to quickly copy an Excel table with all the formatting: I copy the entire sheet from the workbook into a new workbook and possibly delete what I don't need on this new sheet /

Open the workbook where you want to put the table
Right-click on the tab where the table you want to copy is located
Move or copy
Choose the destination workbook
Choose the location for the sheet
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK CREATE A COPY

Hello,  In 2 steps: - classic copy/paste - using the "format painter": highlight the copied area with the painter, then the pasted area.

to copy/paste while preserving the formatting you need to select the entire rows by clicking on the row numbers on the left and dragging down to the desired location, then copy and go to another sheet, place yourself in A1 and paste. This method kept my formatting.

In Excel or Calc, click at the very top left of the table in the box (not cell A1) at the intersection of rows and columns, above row 1 and to the left of column A, which selects the entire sheet (Calc specifies the selection A1:AMJ1048576, Excel says A1), copy this selection, then in the blank destination sheet, click in that same box and paste, which fully reproduces the sheet while respecting the dimensions given to the rows, columns, merged cells, and formats. The destination sheet must be blank; otherwise, data will be overwritten. Good luck to all.
