Gray Screen Locked

Hello*

Last night, I was quietly watching a series, and suddenly boom, a grey screen. I thought OK, I'll restart, and then I got to the desktop, but 10 seconds later, boom, grey screen again. Currently, it doesn't even get to the desktop anymore; I only get the grey screen just before. I tried to do a recovery, but it didn't work. I went into safe mode, but when you don't know where the problem is coming from, it doesn't help much ^^'. HALP plz :D

So the gray screen can also be a hardware issue, like a dead graphics card...

You're going to try this first.

Turn off the PC.
Unplug it.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Plug the PC back in.
And turn it on.

And let me know what happens...

I built the PC myself; it has an AMD HD Radeon 7770, an AMD FX6100 processor, the rest I can't remember too well, it's been 3 years since I built it.

No, nothing, I just have a gray (light) screen and that's it, no smiley, no message, the fans are working well, the hard drive isn't making any noise.

You're going to redo the manipulation from above (press the uppercase key).
Return to the command prompt.

This time you will type

sfc /scannow
and validate by pressing enter.

There is a space between sfc and /scannow.

In fact, when I reboot it, it's different each time; either I get a gray, light gray, or black screen and it freezes either just after Windows loading, or after the welcome screen, or a few seconds after landing on the desktop.

Windows has scanned the file system and found no issues. No further action is required.  Plenty of data...  Failed to transfer the message log to the event log with status 50.

It's not easy to say, I can't guarantee you 100% that the issue is resolved, I'm still puzzled until we fix the problem..!!!  We're going to reinstall W10, but keeping your data. Well, let's get started on updating W10 for now.  You're going to do like yesterday, hold down the shift key and start the PC at the same time then click on troubleshoot and reset your PC  then follow the instructions given to you, making sure to choose the option to keep your data. so we're not doing super well... I hope your problem isn't just that your hard drive is giving out.....  I can't send you the commands, I'm on my phone right now. But you're going to have to go on Google. Type "windows 10 1511 iso" The first site "windows8facile", go there. You'll have the link to download the iso on the microsoft site.  You'll see it will download the media creation tool software, and from there, you take the same version of Windows as yours, so 64 bits and home if it's a home version. We can't be sure it's the HDD, but as I told you, it's still a possibility that I haven't ruled out. However, if we don't try everything to be 100% sure, we can't confirm.  I had situations where I suspected the HDD was faulty, and in the end, it was Windows that was completely messed up. After reinstallation, everything was back to normal..  -- Gaming is not a crime.
