Hello,
I live about 25/30 km from the Neuvy Deux Clochers transmitter (Sancerre) in Cher.
I am having reception problems with multiplex R7
COMPOSITION of MULTIPLEX R1 to R7 of the Cher transmitters as of April 5, 2016
multiplex R1: France 2, France 3 Châteauroux, France 4, France Ô and France 3 Bourgogne.
multiplex R2: D8, BFM TV, ITÉLÉ, D17 and Gulli.
multiplex R3: Canal+, Paris Première, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Cinéma, Planète+ and LCI.
multiplex R4: France 5, M6, Arte, W9 and 6Ter.
multiplex R6: TF1, TMC, NT1, NRJ12 and LCP/Public Sénat.
multiplex R7: HD1, L'Équipe 21, Numéro 23, RMC Découverte and Chérie 25.
The channel Numéro 23 is only authorized until June 30, 2016
These channels are pixelating, the image is missing or half.
Do you think this problem is due to a misalignment of my antenna?
Thank you for your help. :-)
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 49.0.2623.110

Okay, heading to the Queen Merlin this afternoon.. any advice on DB? I believe the higher it is, the better the quality. What about a tri nappe in how much?

Hello,
HD is more demanding than SD, so yes, it could be a bad orientation or an insufficiently performing antenna; changing it for a good tri-dipole or considering a filtered LTE/4G preamplifier like the one here, after the antenna:

I just checked the signal quality, excellent (at max) on all channels except R7, where it's random, absent, weak, and moderate on the 5 channels.
The antenna is only 5 or 6 years old. I installed a 4G filter before the HD pass thinking that my problem was coming from there.

This antenna is surely over 6 years old...

Unable to climb the ladder at the moment, I cut the wire of the coupler that connects to the UHF part.
A first test gives me all the channels, but since the poor quality was random, I can't judge if this intervention has truly solved my problems.
So, to be continued.

No, you cut off the good otherwise you wouldn't have anything left...
For info:
VHF = Very High Frequency, historical band of TV with 819 lines for the first channel, then taken over by Canal Plus. (wide antenna) is intended for digital terrestrial radio.
UHF = Ultra High Frequency: band for current terrestrial TV (a slightly narrower antenna)

Amazing twist..:-(
Since the 9th, I had this perfect R7 bouquet, but today it's raining and this bouquet is no longer working..
Should I put an umbrella over the antenna? :-))

Re,
I'm coming back to my reception issue; I've cut the VHF cable, but I've left it as is, and the coupler is still there.
Is it possible that the poor reception is due to that?
Depending on the days or rather I think the weather, I receive 35 channels, which is perfect, or 21 or 26, and that's not good at all.

I've already advised you to connect the cable directly to the antenna.
If you can't access the antenna and you have access to the coupler, disconnect the cables.
Attach two male F connectors to the ends of the cable:
http://www.misterpieces.com/909-4505-thickbox/conf7twwl-fiche-f.jpg
Which you will assemble like this:
https://img.imagesia.com/fichiers/1f/antenne-satellite-connectique-denudage-cable-montage-fiche-f-raccordement-connex_imagesia-com_1fs5_large.png
And be careful that not even a single strand of the braid touches the copper core!
For the connection, use a female-to-female F connector:
http://www.salade-de-cables.com/38048-large/fiche-f-sat-double-fiche-femelle-accouplement-f.jpg
And screw the two males onto it.

I explain myself poorly, if there is an antenna coupler, it is on the antenna.. I cut the cable coming from the VHF antenna to this coupler. As for the connectors, I know them and I already have my connections with.

In this case, you need to access the coupler and connect the cable directly to the UHF part of this old antenna. That said, if I were you, I would replace it with a filtered LTE/4G antenna as mentioned above (you can remove the filter installed on the cable). Admittedly, removing the VHF antenna may have slightly improved things, but it's the coupler that consumes the most signal, so get to work!
It confirms the one I wanted to take, it's the right one.
Thank you and see you soon for the results.

Lol, thanks for the PDF, the sheet, I would have forgotten it... well, I'm off.
You really have to do everything yourself now..

Done... she has arrived, I'm preparing the assembly.
20 minutes, pre-assembled, just need to remove the old one.
I'll check that tomorrow.

Having always had a cable in the attic, I connected it and got a strong signal. I have all the channels from 1 to 26 + 33, (41, 42, 43, 44, and 45 encrypted).
I will leave it as is to test; if it works this way, I won’t climb the ladder.. :-)

Hi,
News about my reception.
Since that new antenna in the attic on a PVC tube, everything is working great for now.
Thanks, Andy. :-)

The new UHF trinappe antennas for the new filtered LTE 4G 700/800 MHz channels 21/48 will soon be marketed only for sites using frequencies below 694 MHz. Active models are additionally equipped with a UHF preamplifier (with fixed gain) of dipole type (instead of the balun)
As already noted, be wary of channel 21 to 69 models still sold on the Internet while we know that the used channels no longer exceed c 60 and even in the Paris region, c48... sites that already use the new TNT spectrum which will be gradually extended across France... in other words, a reconfiguration of frequencies is on the horizon, so a new search/memo will be necessary...
As repeatedly reminded, do not place too much trust in stores or sellers!
Frequency response, gain dBi, trinappe, model/standard 2016:

For me, the important thing is that it works, and it works... as for the rest, the petty squabbles over UHF, VHF, FM, jungle drums, and the like, knowing nothing about it, I couldn't care less with a female lobster claw.

@ nemrod,
yes, but,
the LTE 4G 700 MHz (not to be confused with LTE 4G 800 MHz) is currently being deployed only in the Paris region, and then >2017 in all relevant regions of France, so the current filtered TNT tri-band antennas, which are perfectly suitable now, will not be operational to protect against interference produced by the new LTE band.
If the receiving site is not, or will not be affected by mobile phone interference from the 4th (or even 5th) generation, then antennas with integrated filtering are therefore useless, knowing that there are, if necessary, external coaxial reject filters that can be simply connected to the tuner input of the television or TNT adapter... (unless the antenna has an attic amplifier or a mast preamplifier...)
there you go.. good choice ...

Be careful because in some stores they still sell unfiltered ones that go up to channel 69!!!
