Hello,
I have a Macbook (2008) that starts up normally, but after a few minutes, a window asking if I want to "restart, sleep, cancel or shut down" appears, but before I can do anything, my Mac shuts down...
Can someone help me?
Thank you in advance.

Alright... So no matter the version, it could be a virus... Because Macs are not completely safe from viruses. But it's true that there are fewer than on PCs... Since it shuts down randomly, a scan will be difficult. I suggest you start the Mac by holding cmd+r and "reinstall OS X". I've never tried it, but apparently, personal files are not affected.

Hello,
I have never heard of this problem. What system do you have? Apple > About This Mac -
This is MAC OSX 10.7.5.

Thank you for your response, but I don't know how to "reinstall OS X." This is a second-hand MACBOOK...

Hello,
I did some research and I found that there are other solutions before reinstalling the system.
By the way, if this problem occurs when you are on battery, try keeping your Mac plugged in. If the problem disappears, the battery is defective. If the problem persists, try these solutions:
The first: start in safe mode by holding the Shift key at startup (instead of you, to make sure it’s taken into account, I would press it before starting the Mac, and I would only release it once the Mac has reacted). Once you are in safe mode, download Avast and run a full scan. If the official Avast site redirects you to Google Play, you can download it from www.01net.com
More info on safe mode: https://support.apple.com/fr-ch/HT201262
Note: I’m not sure if safe mode exists for Lion, but I think it does...
Second solution:
Reset the PRAM. This is non-volatile RAM, and when an error is recorded in it, the Mac can behave unexpectedly. Start by pressing cmd+alt+p+r (good luck pressing all that at the same time, along with the power button XD )
More info:

Note: resetting the NVRAM changes the volume, the time, as well as Bluetooth connections. So for you, it’s fine since you have a MacBook, but if an iMac, Mac mini, or Mac Pro owner does this, they may need to get a USB mouse to reconnect their Bluetooth devices, including the keyboard and magic mouse or magic trackpad. They are warned.
And finally, if the problem persists, you can reinstall OS X by holding cmd+r at startup. In principle, personal files are not modified. But it's better to have a copy on an external drive. And above all, plug in your MacBook to avoid battery failure.
