Format my MSI PC through the BIOS.

Hello everyone, I would like to know the procedure to follow to format my MSI desktop PC to install an SSD and Windows on the SSD.

When I turn on the PC, I can press "Del" or "F11" to display these two screens:

but nothing indicates how to format the hard drive.
Thank you for your help and advice!

    Hi

It's normal, you don't format a hard drive or SSD through the BIOS; you do it with the installation DVD (or USB stick) of the operating system.

Before asking a question: Google is your friend, the search engine on CCM is too, do a search... And think a little, your PC won't do it for you ;-)

Well, I just came out of a Windows reinstallation using the "remove everything and reinstall Windows" function. Along the way, it asked for the installation CD, which I inserted. The problem is that the installation went ahead automatically without asking for my input, whereas I simply wanted to format the hard drive!
Since I will be installing Windows on the SSD...
What should I do? Thank you.

2 options: either you do a normal installation by booting from the Windows DVD, or you can clone your Windows to the SSD in principle, without having to reinstall everything.

I assume Windows was already installed on your PC at purchase, right? Which MSI exactly is it? Is your DVD an original Windows DVD?

I would like to go for the normal installation!
The PC was built by a friend who later sold it to me.
The DVD is original, purchased by me.
However, I don't know the version of the MSI :3

So I need to "boot" from the Windows DVD if I understood correctly? Thanks again.

Which version of Windows is it? In any case, yes, you need to boot from the installation media.
