Format my Packard Bell PC Solved

Hello,

I have a Packard Bell computer from last year and I would like to know how I could format it.
Because I have neither a formatting disk nor a CD.
Please let me know how I could format it.

small tip

for Packard Bell

most models have a built-in system restore on the hard drive

be careful, this procedure erases all programs except Windows!
to do this, at startup of the computer
> click several times on F11
> > until a RESTORE screen appears
> > > just click on your choice (I recommend destructive formatting!)
> > > YOUR COMPUTER WILL RETURN TO SETTINGS as if you just bought it

Hi,

The problem is that if you don't have an installation CD, you can still format, but you won't be able to restore anything...

Anyway, just so you know, what you need to format is a Windows boot disk (98 works just fine).

Well, if you format, you erase everything, including Windows, unless you have the Windows CD, I wonder how you plan to install it. (Unless you want to reinstall Linux).

A friend has a RED floppy disk that is meant to format his computer, so could I borrow it, will it work? He formats it and then puts in his 3 memory CDs that he burned in the beginning, the day he bought his PC!
Could I use it even though I don't have any memory CDs???

My boyfriend doesn't need a Windows XP Home Edition installation CD, XP installs itself during formatting.

So, if the floppy disk is bootable ( "launchable" during the startup of your PC) and allows formatting, I think so, it needs to be tested to be sure :S

Then, if those CDs contain an image of his hard drive, then yes, I think theoretically it’s feasible, but you will have exactly the content of HIS PC in yours.

I think that trying is the best solution to get clarity...

I had a little red diskette to insert and the computer formatted on startup and until then there was no problem
and now it bugs... my PC is starting to give me trouble so I decided to format it...
I inserted my diskette, I booted and then....
the diskette doesn't work, it says to insert the correct diskette and press a key, so I tried to explore it and it bugs a lot, so I would like to know if someone could send me the contents of the Windows 98 restoration diskette (because Packard Bell uses the one from 98 for XP)

Upon delivery of the PC, you were supposed to receive a CD called Backup. Boot from this CD and the system restoration should start. If not, call the Packard Bell helpdesk.

Bonjour, depuis peu, mon ordinateur ne veut plus redémarrer (Packard Bell). J'ai essayé de le formater avec le CD d'installation, mais il me met un message d'erreur : errorlevel: 2 et ne veut pas charger le système d'exploitation. Packard Bell does not provide a restoration CD! It's a hidden file that directly reinstalls Windows XP once the formatting is done. Anyway, between us, Packard Bell isn't the best... In short, to format your PC, there are two options. I, not having a Packard Bell myself, can't really tell you which one is valid. Either, as some have already suggested, you press F11 many times (to be sure not to miss the moment to press it) at startup... The second option is going to the Start menu > All Programs > Packard Bell > SmartRestore > Destructive Restore... I have no idea what works... but check if SmartRestore really exists first... Hello, if your PC is from 2002 or later, start it and click 10 or 15 times on F11. Stop when it turns blue, and then you’ll need to reinstall. It will be like new. Make backups of your photos on CDs, as well as your documents; it’s easy to do. See you!

I have a Packard Bell MerdiMedia 2638 that has gone to Darty for repairs three times, they changed the motherboard and the graphics card, and it still doesn't work. Now I use it as a cupboard; it's very useful for storing my papers, while I have another unbranded assembled PC that has been working wonderfully for three years. Moral of the story, think carefully before buying this Chinese piece of junk.

I know how to do it, I'm going to do it now. So, you start your PC in safe mode... then you go to the control panel and you go to system recovery, you go into advanced settings and go to the first step. Then it will restart the PC and there you will have to choose another step and you choose the first one. That's it!
