Format my Packard Bell PC

Packard Bell does not provide a restoration CD! It's a hidden file that directly reinstalls Windows XP once the formatting is done. Anyway, between us, Packard Bell isn't the best... In short, to format your PC, there are two options. I, not having a Packard Bell myself, can't really tell you which one is valid. Either, as some have already suggested, you press F11 many times (to be sure not to miss the moment to press it) at startup... The second option is going to the Start menu > All Programs > Packard Bell > SmartRestore > Destructive Restore... I have no idea what works... but check if SmartRestore really exists first... Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to format my Packard Bell? I've tried everything, F11 but it doesn't work, is there another way? If possible without a CD or floppy disk (I had made a recovery CD so I would like to know if I can put it in without changing anything after that??

My boyfriend doesn't need a Windows XP Home Edition installation CD, XP installs itself during formatting.

Well, if you format, you erase everything, including Windows, unless you have the Windows CD, I wonder how you plan to install it. (Unless you want to reinstall Linux).

The problem is that if you don't have an installation CD, you can still format, but you won't be able to restore anything...

Anyway, just so you know, what you need to format is a Windows boot disk (98 works just fine).

the Packard Bell CDs are only usable on the PC they came with!
Otherwise, it is possible to download the CDs for your PC (make sure to have the PC references and the invoice) from Packard Bell.

I had a little red diskette to insert and the computer formatted on startup and until then there was no problem
and now it bugs... my PC is starting to give me trouble so I decided to format it...
I inserted my diskette, I booted and then....

So, if the floppy disk is bootable ( "launchable" during the startup of your PC) and allows formatting, I think so, it needs to be tested to be sure :S

Then, if those CDs contain an image of his hard drive, then yes, I think theoretically it’s feasible, but you will have exactly the content of HIS PC in yours.

I think that trying is the best solution to get clarity...

I know how to do it, I'm going to do it now. So, you start your PC in safe mode... then you go to the control panel and you go to system recovery, you go into advanced settings and go to the first step. Then it will restart the PC and there you will have to choose another step and you choose the first one. That's it! Don't hesitate to send me an email, it might take you 1 or 2 hours if you have a small PC like mine (Packard Bell).

Aside from the fact that I'm all alone ( ^^ ) it seems doable... But a test will tell us.

Upon delivery of the PC, you were supposed to receive a CD called Backup.
Boot from this CD and the system restoration should start.
If not, call the Packard Bell helpdesk.
