Hello,
I'm not used to the GPS concept on a tablet (I've been using Mappy GPS until now... but it's no longer up to date).
I just downloaded Here on my Iconia tablet, as well as the map of France. I want to test a destination offline (I don't have a data plan).
I've entered my address and the destination, the app calculates the travel time and displays it, but when I click on "start," I get the message: "navigation cannot start, please try again later"... and there's no real tutorial online.
Can someone help me?
Thanks :)
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 45.0

Thank you for this answer, but I must admit that it does not particularly clarify what should be done to solve the problem; the app is supposed to work offline so I don't get it..?

Being offline does not mean being without satellites..
The satellites need to track your movements to follow a map. When you move, it’s not the map that scrolls but your position that is tracked by the satellites.
Your application must capture the satellites by activating location on your device.
Therefore, you need to enable "location" on your tablet and leave it outside without a roof for about half an hour, so it can capture.
Quote from Georges Courteline:
To appear as a fool in the eyes of an imbecile is a pleasure for the true gourmet. This is merely a signature and not a personal attack.

Thank you; I didn't grasp the nuance, excuse me!
Actually, I activated it, but I probably wasn't patient enough. After 15 minutes, I assumed it would just keep looping...
Oh well, apparently it works well for you! :D

Indeed, and some tablets have poor reception; I have a Lenovo that hardly picks up anything.
Here works very well; it is clear and precise, the announcements are repeated (impossible to forget to turn, at least 3 warnings, the first at 1 km).
On my smartphone, I have installed 6 different GPS to test, Tomtom, Radar beep, Maps, Maps Me, Here, and Waze.
