Hello everyone,
I bought Studio 18 Ultimate (the box online) in September 2015 and successfully installed it on my PC (Win 7)... after using it without any issues, I uninstalled the software to perform maintenance on the PC.
Since then, I have been unable to reinstall it; I get an immediate message after inserting the installation CD saying "Cannot continue because Pinnacle Studio requires Vista Pack 2!!!!!!" I’ve tried to get a response from COREL support to no avail...
If someone could offer me a lead, I would be relieved.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, uninstalling and reinstalling is a delicate operation. I suggest first updating your Windows 7 through Windows Update
then using a cleaning software like "CCleaner" to remove all files in the registry related to Studio
that's all I can tell you, I have this info on Studio 17
A few explanations regarding “Patches”:
- A patch is a program fix, generally containing several corrections. The developer only provides the list of the most important fixes,
those concerning errors that prevent certain functions from working properly.
Others are adjustments, minor additional functions, etc.
- Each version of a product has its own “patches”: There are patches for Pinnacle Studio 16, others for Pinnacle Studio 17, etc.
The original product is numbered e.g. "17.0.x". The “patches” are numbered with one (or two) additional digit(s), for example: Pinnacle Studio 17.1.1, or 17.2. The additional digit comes into play when there are fixes for fixes...! The other digits relate to the internal management of the development teams.
- A new “patch” always contains the previous patches. Therefore, applying the latest one is sufficient, unless the developer gives a specific instruction (It may happen that a specific patch applies to a specific version of the system for compatibility reasons).
- When a new version is released, it means there will be no more “patches” for the previous version. Caution: when downloading, use “save as” to keep the latest patch and/or the product on your hard drive, in case the developer removes old versions and their patches ... to sell the latest version!
- As for Pinnacle Studio 16 and 17, you will find the download link on our website http://www.quatra-video.fr/#Pinnacle Studio 16
or directly on the manufacturer's site https://www.pinnaclesys.com/fr/support/updates/?viewDownload=1
"donkeys change their minds, not idiots"
please remember to set "resolved" on your message if that is the case.

Good evening,
and thank you for the lengthy response. Unfortunately, it has already been done without any results. I even went to C/program data, C/program files, C/program files (x86) to delete everything related to Pinnacle. What I don't understand is that the installation software requires Vista Pack 2, which is a mystery.
Would it be possible to download the software from the Pinnacle website (without purchasing it since I have already bought it) and apply the key that came with the CD I received?
If you have any ideas...

I will reply that yes, you can with your serial number and your registration, the CDs are an additional assurance that you pay for
Vista Pack 2 is almost like Seven, make sure to check your updates for Seven
Without encouraging you more than that, you might as well switch to Windows 10 while it's free, that's perhaps the solution.
