Mot de passe HDD gelé

Good evening everyone,

I just bought a Samsung laptop, the old hard drive burnt out and the previous owner told me it was making noise.

He bought a HDD at Boulanger that he installed himself, so I received the PC without an OS. I tested it by installing Ubuntu with my portable and it worked perfectly, but after an hour I turned off the PC, turned it back on and it was stuck on the boot menu at startup.

Looking in the BIOS, I noticed HDD password frozen; I'm not sure if that's the issue.

I tried to restart a Windows 7 installation and even Ubuntu again but nothing, it keeps looping on the boot menu.

Thanks in advance for your future replies, I've been searching for a solution for 6 hours in vain...

Indeed, it's a curious thing.

How about resetting your PC (removing the CMOS battery, unplugging the power...) and booting into the BIOS to check?

Otherwise, try booting from an IRon Boot CD to see if it detects your disk and formats it at a low level?
