Hello,
the fiber has been installed since 2008 in my Parisian apartment, managed in triple play social by SFR-Numericable. I was already a customer then and have since remained on ADSL via a deregulated telephone line with Free.
Since June 2015, Free has informed me that they have already connected their Free service via the same fiber to my apartment and that I just need to adopt their fiber-compatible box. My adslfree.fr account shows "free optical box" even though I continue to be connected via a telephone line.
Is it possible for two different ISPs to coexist on the same fiber line?
Or does each have exclusivity like in deregulated telephone service?
The low-speed SFR fiber hotline tells me that Free can coexist without disrupting their connection.
This topic seems to be little addressed and I would like to know...
Thank you

Hello,
not on the same fiber.
But you can have multiple fibers on the same access (4 in general, allowing for 4 operators).
That's the role of the PTO.
If you have one, try to see how the fiber termination is at your place.
In this model:
you therefore have 4 sockets for 4 fibers to 4 possible operators:
and ... There you go!-

In fact,
fiber optic technology also allows several connections to be transported in the same fiber through multiple lasers of different wavelengths (CWDM/DWDM), but this is not deployed in FTTH access; it requires much more sophisticated equipment, which can only be found in the internal links of operators.
