Hello,

I am currently doing an internship, my internship supervisor entrusted me with a Cisco switch to configure, it's new as he told me;

Well, I connected it to the power supply and then with a console cable to my Windows 7 machine

I downloaded the Putty application

Then when I check Serial > open it displays the following message

as if the cable is not plugged in

considering that the cable is working like the interface and the Com driver

I saw some videos on YouTube and I was able to access via Ethernet on the graphical interface in the browser...

Thank you

    Hi,
    try to check in the device manager which COM port is active, it's not necessarily COM1

      As Brupala said, but also configure the speed of your COM port in PuTTY; unless I'm mistaken, Cisco uses 9600

        yes and 8 N 1 in character format, but all that comes later, we first need to find the right port
