Battlefield 4 Campaign Help

Hello, I'm stuck on Battlefield 4 in campaign mode. It's my first time playing an FPS on console (I usually play on PC).
My problem... in the game, I'm on a scaffolding for a moment and I need to jump into the void to land on a ladder.... how do I jump and then land on the ladder? What I know is that I have to use the cross to jump over walls... but the same while gaining momentum and then jumping, I fall into the void... I've been trying for 4 days... (yes, FPS with a controller is not my thing) :)

    I also have Battlefield 4 on PC and I finished it. I remember that part, it took me 10 minutes to get through it, but maybe there is a key to sprint (shift on PC) after jumping while taking air.

      It's for details like this that you shouldn't play FPS on console... Thank you, I'll insist because if I stop here, I'll be really upset...
