Connecting amplifier - TV with sound PS4

Question

Hello, I have a PS4, an amplifier, and a new TV.
On my old TV, the amplifier was connected to my TV with the red and white RCA OUT connections.
My PS4 was connected to my TV via HDMI.
I had the TV sound on the amplifier even when I was on the HDMI channel for my PS4.
I have a new LED TV that doesn't have RCA OUT, so I used a SCART with a jack adapter to connect to my amplifier, which works; I have TV sound on the amplifier, but not the sound from the HDMI channel for the PS4.
Does anyone understand? If so, can someone help me? Thanks in advance.

It's logical that it's not working; your TV (sad in connectivity for its price) can't convert the digital sound coming from the PS4 into analog sound through the SCART, you'll need to add a connection to get the sound from the PS4 to your home cinema.

1) HDMI SONY <- HDMI CABLE -> HDMI 1 TV.

2) HDMI PS4 <- HDMI CABLE -> HDMI 2 TV.

3) OPTICAL OUTPUT PS4 <- OPTICAL CABLE -> OPTICAL INPUT SONY.

4) SCART ADAPTOR TV <- RCA CABLE -> RCA ANALOG INPUT SONY.

Every time you use your PS4 you'll have to change the audio source on the home cinema and the same goes when you're watching TV channels; I don't see any other alternative.

If there's another device in the circuit connected via HDMI 2 on the TV, you'll have the same issue.

It's the fault of the TV, or yours when you bought the TV, you didn't check its technical specifications ;-)

PS: Your "old" home cinema released in April 2007 has more connections than your TV released in April 2015 ;-)

Could you please give me the brand and the EXACT MODEL of EVERY DEVICE? This is to help me better inform you about the connections to be made; the references are generally indicated on the back of the devices.

PS: no indications like "Samsung 102cm", that is not a reference, but rather like this example: "SAMSUNG UE40C5100 - 102 cm"

Ok, thanks for your valuable help. The bottom part of the TV, which costs €400, I’m making do with what I have. Then I checked the image specs and all that, but not the connection sheets, it seemed logical to include them for the hearing-impaired or others... Those guys are assholes pushing for consumption by making you buy connectors, when logically those connections should be present by default... but oh well. In any case, thank you very much for your help, it’s cool, the diagrams and everything are perfect. Do you think I should connect the amplifier to the TV via HDMI plus the RCA connectors? Or would either one be enough? Also, for the optical cable, I’ve never used this technology, is there a special size to get?

Hi,

There is no specific optical cable for the PS4, that's just marketing ;-)

An optical cable is an optical cable, whether it's for any device from any brand ;-)

To get something of good quality, prices start at around €10 or €12 and can go up to €40.

...do you think I should connect the amp to the TV with HDMI plus RCA plugs? Or is one or the other enough?

If you want to have the audio return from the TV channels in the home theater, yes, you need to connect the PERITEL - RCA cable; your TV does not have HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), which is also disappointing for a model released in April 2015.

And yes, you must make the HDMI connection if you want to watch your DVDs.
