3 beeps at startup

Hello everyone,

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro that was working perfectly until a few days ago, but now it has a serious problem.
The Mac shuts down suddenly, displays an error message in several languages asking me to press a key to restart (this message doesn't appear every time), and upon restarting, nothing happens except that the Mac starts beeping, a series of 3 beeps, and unless I force it to shut down, it continues.

I have to wait about 5 minutes before I can restart it when this happens. If I don’t wait 5 minutes before restarting, it starts beeping again.

I’ve noticed that when I leave the Mac on without touching it, there is no problem, but as soon as I start browsing the internet or using it, it crashes quite quickly.

I read on some forums that it could be a faulty RAM issue, but when I check "hardware", it shows my 2 x 2GB of RAM without any problem.

Where could this be coming from? And how can I fix this problem?

    3 beeps at startup is indeed a sign of a memory failure:

    The fact that it shows 2 x 2 GB does not mean that the memory is perfectly fine. 

    I noticed that when I leave the Mac on without touching it, there is no problem, but as soon as I start browsing the internet or using it, it crashes quite quickly

    This is precisely because the memory is more stressed when the Mac is "working"...

      Thank you for the response, I suddenly had this issue for no apparent reason on a 2011 Macbook Pro. I opened the cover and it was a stick that had slightly come loose; secured properly, the Mac turns on perfectly ????.
