Solved

Hello,

I would like to play my Playstation 4 on my recently acquired Asus computer. I have an HDMI port, so I connected my HDMI cable to both the PS4 and my PC, but nothing happens. I have tried everything I could, and the PC does not recognize any other screens...
Can you please help me with this issue?
Thank you in advance

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 42.0.2311.135

    Hello,

If you’re talking about an HDMI port on a laptop or a desktop unit, it's an HDMI output, not an input: you can’t display anything on the screen that way...

    See you later =)

Yes, but in that case, what is its purpose if not to display a screen?

It serves to display on an "external" screen, other than that of the laptop itself. For example, if you want to connect a television or a desktop monitor to your laptop.

Is it possible to play on my PlayStation on my PC using a VGA to HDMI adapter since I also have a VGA port on my PC? I’ve watched videos on YouTube and it seems to be possible, but I’d rather make sure before investing in this adapter.
      Thank you
