You are not providing enough information, impossible to download, what does it mean? Do you have an error message? Nothing happens at all? Access to something is not working? How do you download?

Hello brovreizh,
The problem is that when I'm on a download site and I follow the steps correctly, everything goes well and the download takes place, but then I can't find the downloaded program anywhere. Sorry if I'm not being clear, but in any case, thank you for looking into my problem. Best regards; -
It actually depends on the browser you are using to download. By default, downloaded files are located in: C:\Users\<your account="">\Downloads with IE 7 under Vista.</your>

You say:
"everything is going well, the download is taking place"
so it means it is not blocked. You should be able to define in the options of IE7 where the downloaded files go.
Wherever they go, you just need to download a program whose name you remember, then you search your entire hard drive for that program and you will eventually find out where the downloaded items are stored. Try with a small, simple program, like Winamp, so that no antivirus software considers this item intrusive and deletes it.- No, nothing yet. Whether I save or execute the program, it is always impossible to find it. When I save it in C/users/downloads and then at the end of the download I go to look for it in that location, the folder is empty. Maybe I need to define in the IE7 options where the downloaded files go, but how do I do that? Thank you again and have a good evening.

It's nothing new, but I'll try switching browsers and I'll keep you updated.
Thank you for your patience and good night. -
Here it is, impossible to download Firefox either; the same problem persists. The download seems to proceed normally with the progress bar showing 100 percent, but then I can never find the folder. So I'm at a dead end and I don't understand anything.
That said, I'm going to work; have a good day and maybe see you tonight. Have a good day. -
Have you tried downloading through the workspace? In the address bar at the top?
-
No, but I admit that I don't quite understand how to do it.
-
Finally, the problem is solved; it was indeed coming from my browser.
I got an installation CD of Mozilla Firefox, and since then, there have been no more download issues.
Thank you very much for your help; I would have never thought of it.
Best regards, Sindi. -
To complete what I wanted to tell you before, there is sometimes a trick when the IE browser has issues, which is to use the web browser feature of the file system navigation windows.
For example (I'm presenting the English version because I only have that on hand!), you need to click on the "My Computer" icon and the window with all your computer's drives will appear.
Then, you need to go to the white field below the large icons at the top, to the right of a label marked "Address"; normally this white field contains the text "My Computer," which is normal as it is the basis of the workstation.
In this field, you can type any URL, like www.google.com, and the Google page will display in the workstation window.
This sometimes allows you to download stuff without having a functional IE or any other usable browser on the machine :) -
Hello,
I am using Windows Vista, I am trying to download Avast (and this happens with any download), when I click on run or even on save while defining the path, a window appears saying that the connection with the server has been reset. I really don’t understand anything.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I would like to have more information, I have the same problem with a laptop running Vista that I bought.
When I download a file, everything seems to go well, progress bar and no error messages, but afterwards it's impossible to find the file. I tried to select a specific folder, to search by file name afterwards, and still nothing... the same goes if I run it instead of downloading.
My laptop was a model on display, so I think they did something to block downloads to avoid problems with customers...
Thanks to you, I now know that if I download Firefox it will work, but I would still like to know how they did that. -
Salut mon copain m'a acheté un MP4 Sony MPEG4 et je ne sais pas du tout comment et où il faut aller pour mettre de la musique sur mon MP4, merci de m'aider.

Hello!
For the past two weeks, I haven't been able to watch videos on YouTube or Dailymotion! They say I need to download Adobe Flash Media 8 or something like that.. The only problem is that a Vista thing is telling me "your current settings do not allow you to download this file."
And since it's a brand new PC, it would be silly to reformat it.
Thank you for your responses! -
Hello, I have the same issue as the author of this post, however, I already have Firefox installed but it won't start, no error message.
And under IE I can no longer open the attachments sent to me or download anything, the download takes place, I have even tried changing the destination folder several times. I also tried unchecking the "close this dialog box at the end of the download" option, but it disappears as soon as the download is finished.
It's very annoying to pay for downloading songs and to encounter such problems. -
