Hello,
I am looking for help regarding my Jaguar II 61 cutting plotter. When I start it and it searches for the product format, the head sweeps all the way to the end of the machine, hits against it, and does not return or unwind the vinyl. So if anyone has a similar machine and knows a solution to my dilemma, I'd appreciate it, thank you.

I don't know this model, sorry..
But in the vast majority of machines, the width of the support being loaded is detected by the movement of the drive rollers which are positioned on either side of the web..
The head moves and records the distance between the two outer rollers.
The system is either optical (sensor) or magnetic, or Hall effect... If the head goes all the way to the end of its stroke, it means it failed to detect the last roller..
Blow some compressed air on the head, check if anything is loose, but it could also be an electronic failure... unfortunately!
Does the head pause slightly in front of the first roller?

One would need to know the system used for detection...
One hope would be that the sensor is faulty or disconnected... On my Graphtec, it is a Hall effect sensor that passes over the pressure rollers...
It passes a few mm above the roller... The tolerance of this type of sensor is generally between 1 and 4mm, rarely more... but on your plotter, it might be a completely different system...
We've even seen cuts inside the ribbon that connects the head...
It's really unfortunate to have this kind of failure; without knowledge and without a schematic, I think returning it to the importer should be considered...
You might want to ask them if this happens to be a known benign issue... -
Apparently, the sensor that goes over the rollers works when tested with an amperage tester. It is U-shaped, and when presented above one of the rollers, the numbers change on the tester. Moreover, by disengaging the drive belt of the cutting head, we can see that the motor keeps running without ever stopping. I think I will follow your latest advice by asking the supplier of my plotter for a solution; perhaps the motherboard has an issue. In any case, I thank you for your attention to my problem and will not fail to report on its progress.

I have the same plotter
to check:
under the top cover attached to the head, there is an electronic board with 2 small black teeth
when the head passes over the rollers, the black rods attached to the rollers go between these two small teeth fixed on the head.
That's how the plotter knows where the rollers are.
if the sensor is broken on the head it costs about 60 to 80 €
