Hello everyone, I must admit I’m not very good with computers! I have a ASUS laptop with Windows 8.1 and a Targus AMW060EU mouse. It’s a wireless mouse with a USB “key” that I plug into the computer to make the mouse work. At first I had a lot of trouble getting it to work because my computer didn’t detect it, then after several attempts it started to work. Today the problem has reappeared, I was using it and suddenly it stopped working. The red LED underneath the mouse is on but the computer doesn’t detect it, I looked for it in the computer and I didn’t find it… How can I fix this??

    Plop,

Take it apart, dust it, check the contacts, remove and put back everything that can be.

If the "USB drive" is ripped/damaged/worn, throw it away.

I have a wired optical mouse for 5€ that works well :)

    see you later

Thank you Georges, I did what you told me, it worked once, I heard the little sound indicating it was connected, and I saw that it had detected my mouse. I unplugged it and started again to see if it was still okay, and no... my computer doesn't detect it anymore:/ I tried renew for about ten times and still nothing. By the way I tried on another computer, a HP with Windows 7 and the problem is the same!

    Hello.

    >>> By the way I tried on another computer, an HP with Windows 7 and the problem is the same! <<<>

Look no further, it’s either the transmitter (the mouse) or the USB receiver, so irremediable one and the other. For confirmation, if you have a wired mouse in your archives, plug it in place of your infrared mouse.

    That’s only a suggestion... Bye

There is no use running; you have to start off at the right pace. . . .
