Tablet flashes and turns off

Hello,
I have a problem with my Samsung tablet. Last night I was using it while it was charging (it was at 11 percent battery) and suddenly, for no reason, the tablet started flashing very rapidly. So I unplugged it from the charger and it shut down even though it had battery left... I plugged the charger back in and the charging icon appeared, but it showed 0 percent (weird), and it kept flashing. So I unplugged it and left it like that. The next morning I plugged it back in, same thing happened, but I decided to let it flash and see what it would do, and the flashing didn't stop, then the tablet shut down... I tried several times plugging and unplugging it, and I noticed that when I place it on a flat surface, it sometimes charges. When it gets to 12 percent, it charges but struggles. So I turn it on while leaving it plugged in and it works, but after about 5 minutes, it starts flashing again and shuts down... Does anyone have an idea why this is happening and what I can do? I would be annoyed to have to send it for repair since it's only 5 months old :/ ...
