Folder Old Firefox Data Solved

Question

Hello,

After resetting Firefox, a shortcut "Old Firefox Data" has been placed on my desktop. To delete it, I first need to know where it might have been downloaded on my computer. Could someone explain what this "Old Firefox Data" folder might contain? Can I delete or uninstall it without harming Firefox? I have previously reset browsers (IE, Google Chrome, Firefox) without ever having folders placed on my desktop like this time with Firefox.

Thank you for helping me understand and make the right choice: deletion, uninstallation, or keeping this shortcut that clutters my desktop?

Hello.

Your old Firefox profile is saved on your desktop in a folder named Old Firefox Data.
If the reset does not resolve your issue, you can restore some of the unsaved information by copying the files into the newly created profile.
If you no longer need this folder, you should delete it as it contains sensitive information.

Thank you for your two pieces of advice, which unfortunately do not ease my worries as a non-professional in computing, because when I open this shortcut folder https://www.cjoint.com/?DJdnl1PObk8, I see technical information that my level of computing knowledge will not be able to manage on its own, with this result from opening a randomly chosen subfolder: https://www.cjoint.com/?DJdnmJWCQdt

When you click on the shortcut, you arrive at your old Firefox profile.  You have reset Firefox. If it works properly and the sent and received messages are there, you can delete the entire folder.

Deleting the shortcut does not delete the folder.  You need to delete the folder xxj4a5kt.default-1412177188220.

We do not uninstall a file or a folder, we simply delete it.  The deletion. Most operating systems come with a graphical interface that includes a Recycle Bin. This Recycle Bin is a folder where deleted items are temporarily displayed. Items in it are awaiting permanent deletion from the storage device or restoration. The data is still present on the storage device (the hard drive, for example).  A command allows you to Restore the items in it. Their display is then deleted from the Recycle Bin and restored in the folder where they were before deletion.  Another command allows you to Empty the Recycle Bin. When this operation is performed, the display of the items in it is deleted. And the data is still not physically deleted from the storage device. The locations on the disk occupied by this data are then marked by the operating system as available for new data to be written over. And the system will not hesitate to use them. In this situation, "data recovery" software can still manage, without too much difficulty, to recover some files. But if freed locations have been used to save new data, then part or all of the old data has been overwritten, and the corresponding items are no longer recoverable.
