Excuse me, but I just received a laptop (NEC VERSA C200) from the general council 13, and I should be able to connect to the Wi-Fi, but it’s not working (the network is not detected). I called my internet provider, and they told me to activate my Wi-Fi with a button that should be on the laptop...

For me, it doesn't work... even after pressing the fn key and f1, a small computer with an exclamation mark appears at the bottom right of my screen. Thank you for getting back to me as soon as possible.

Sorry for not replying right away, I completely forgot that I had posted a message here.
Anyway, I solved the problem myself after freaking out in front of my computer for an hour^^.
Anyway, here’s the solution: just press the "fn" key and the "F1" key until you hear a sound that I would describe as barely common^^.

As I said above, to activate the Wi-Fi, simply press the "fn" key (bottom left of the keyboard) and the "F1" key at the top of the keyboard ^^ Thank you again.

Hi, I have the same problem... Yesterday, I caught a virus... reformatting was necessary, I installed a version of Windows XP Professional... but to my great surprise when I turned on the computer, no Wi-Fi in the taskbar... I've tried everything: connection settings fn+f1... nothing works... with the fn+f1 combination, I get the famous "uncommon" sound then I end up on a window called "Help and Support" where they teach me how to connect to networks by going to: network connection then wireless network then properties etc... but the problem is that I don't even have the wireless networks icon!!!! I don't know what to do anymore...
Hello, to activate the Wi-Fi there are keyboard shortcuts on my laptop, it's the combination of the fn key and the Wi-Fi logo, but what kind of computer do you have?

me too it did the same thing but I solved the problem it's fn+F1

Even though this topic is a bit dated, since it is indexed on Google, I can indicate that you need to install the Wireless driver and not Wireless2
