Hello,
I just bought an Optex 9540 HD receiver and I'm having trouble installing it on my TV. I searched for satellites but I'm only picking up German channels. Unless I quickly learn the language, I'd still like to watch French channels.
If anyone has encountered the same problem and luckily found a solution, it would be really nice to share the steps with me. I've been struggling for a week.
Configuration: Linux / Firefox 18.0

It is completely normal. The OPTEX 9540 HD receiver is a FREE TO AIR receiver and not a TNTSAT receiver (for Astra 19) or FRANSAT.

To use a Fransat labeled satellite terminal on Eutelsat 5WA or Hot-Bird (=Bis TV), you must also reside in Europe + Maghreb, a condition also required for Astra (canalsat Tntsat) via a Canal Ready Viaccess Orca.
Then see the compatible models for French TV in the list to help choose satellite terminals (decoders) in this index... -
Always consult the forum before buying...!
It specified the type of satellite terminal that should be used for the 25 French national channels on Astra 1 via a "Canal ready" (tntsat) labeled terminal or via a "Fransat" on Eutelsat 5wa, which allows the reception of Fransat in a satellite television set.
Sorry...
