Hello,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 44.0.2403.107
Following a tutorial obtained here, I’m stuck after this:

Go to Device Manager.
Right-click on the device in question
Update driver
No, not this time
Install from a list or specified location

I don't have that... I have
Update
Disable
Uninstall
Scan for hardware changes.

Of course, by clicking on the first and the last... they do not find the driver... normal.

    For Windows 7:
    Go to Device Manager
    Right-click on the device in question
    Update driver
    Browse my computer for driver software
    Browse
    Select the folder of the unzipped driver
    Next, etc...
    Restart

      Hello,
      On another forum, I had phrased it differently; it’s your tutorial that I tried in vain to use and about which I reported my ongoing problem here.
      However, I received a download link where I didn't have to do anything except the usual... continue... continue... to install.
      I think it’s settled; the yellow triangle has disappeared, as well as the PCI serial port line in the device manager.
      For your information, what you suggested is precisely what wasn’t working... refer back to my message.
      I wasn’t looking for A DRIVER but rather for THE MODIFICATIONS.
      The main thing now is that it’s resolved.

      Given what I wrote to you, it's because there was confusion between updating and installing the driver that I couldn't follow your tutorial. Since it wasn't installed, it couldn't be updated or searched for, or do you not see why I couldn't manage it.

      Since the installation, in Device Manager, the line "PCI serial port" no longer appears and the submenu I mentioned is also missing, of course. Is that normal?

    The AMT is not necessary for the computer to function.
    At startup, you can disable --> atchk.exe

    It is a security device used by Companies, Businesses, etc...

    To disable it, launch CCleaner
    Tools
    Startup
    Select Intel AMT (atchk.exe)
    Click on Disable
    Restart the pc.

    Go to the Device Manager
    Right-click on the Intel AMT device
    Uninstall it (including the drivers)
    Restart the PC.

    Go back to the Device Manager
    If there is an alert regarding the AMT device
    Provide the hardware ID number.
    To find the ID number, look --> here

    What is the brand and model number of the PC?

    Which operating system is it running and is it 32 or 64 bit?

      AMT has indeed disappeared from the device manager.
      However, upon restarting, there is a message indicating that the driver has not been found.
