Hello,
I've tried all the techniques to eject my CD; restarting and clicking on the touchpad, inserting a piece of cardboard or a credit card, pressing the eject button, nothing works and I don't know what to do anymore... please help me :(

Good evening,

Here are the methods generally used:

Ejecting a disc when everything else has failed ??If you have tried all the usual methods for ejecting a CD or DVD from your computer's optical drive without success, there are a few manual methods. ??First, quit all applications that are using files on the disc. Then try one of these alternative methods: ???Select the Apple menu > Restart and hold down the button or the trackpad until the disc is ejected. ??If your drive has an emergency eject hole, put your computer to sleep and insert a straightened paperclip into this small hole (its position varies depending on the drives). Push firmly until the disc is ejected. ??Use Open Firmware to eject the disc if all other methods fail (this may not work on all computers). To use this method, you need to start and briefly use your computer using Open Firmware, not the standard Mac OS X desktop. ??To eject a disc via Open Firmware: ?Restart the computer. ?When you hear the startup sound, press and hold down the Command + Option + O + F keys. (There is an Apple on the Command key.) ?Release the keys when you see a white screen that says "Welcome to Open Firmware". ?At the prompt, type: ?eject cd ??Press the Return key, then wait a few seconds. The disc drive should eject the disc, and "OK" will appear on the screen when the action is completed. ?Type: ?mac-boot ??Press the Return key. ??Your computer starts normally and you find your Mac OS X desktop.

So you need to turn off the computer. Then, start it up and immediately press the keys "option + command + O (like Olivier) + F "
You will access Open Firmware, and there you type "eject cd" and then press return.

At this point, the CD should come out. You enter "exit" and return, and normally you will be back at your desktop.
There is a method via the Terminal (which is in the Applications/Utilities folder) that involves typing the following command:
drutil tray eject
and validating this command by pressing the "Return" key.

Another solution/ Start by holding down the F12 key.

Or, by opening Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) then selecting the CD/DVD and clicking on "eject" from the menu bar.

If none of this works and the drive is of the "disk-eating" type (iMac) you will have to go to extremes, take a rigid support (a wooden ice cream stick is the best) insert it into the slot of your iMac in such a way that the disc cannot turn, and turn on your iMac ...
You should feel a resistance (the disc is trying to turn) and at a certain point nothing more, that will be the moment to remove the stick, because the CD will be ejected (a kind of automatic protection of the drive to prevent damage).

Good luck

There is a small hole normally; you insert a pin into this hole and it should open normally.

Hi,

Look at the front, there should be a small hole of barely 1 mm in diameter.
Insert a paperclip into it and push.
The drawer will open.
