External CD drive for iMac

Hello, I need to buy an external CD/DVD drive for my iMac. OSX El Capitan 10.11.6.

I previously had a Super Drive that never worked.

Do you have any advice for me? Thank you.

    Hello,

    There's no need to spend a lot on an external drive, but it all depends on what you intend to use it for. If you want to burn Blu-rays or not, check at Macway or elsewhere, in a nearby large store like Darty, Boulanger, etc., or online:

    They are all practically compatible with Mac.

      Thanks for your response. I just ordered one on Amazon. I hope it's not difficult to install (I’m really bad at anything tech-related!).

        Usually, you just need to plug it in and it will be recognized by your Mac, if you’ve chosen a Mac-compatible one, although they are practically all compatible.

        I can't get it to work. I inserted a CD to install a printer. When I open it, I get the following message: Unable to open Autorun.inf. No application configured. Search the App Store or choose an existing application.
        The model purchased: external DVD CD reader/writer, Pictek USB3.0, portable external. It is on Amazon for €29.99. I don't know what else to tell you as a reference. Let me know if this is enough for you to take a look. Thank you.
