Hi,

Turn your phone over, you should have a flap: open it and you should access the memory or the hard drive.

Thank you for your response, but I still don't see where that famous disc is located.

Did you find the trap? Check your manual.

Well, I did a little research... (a big research :p)

Your phone isn't recent, it's from '98 if I remember correctly.

Apparently, the hard drive would be under the keyboard, so everything would need to be taken apart.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00139858/c00139858.pdf

Check this file on pages 103 and 104 (out of 217), that's where the hard drive is located!!

It's in English, but unfortunately there is no version in French.

There are 8 points; I advise you to do them one by one in order... Before you start disassembling the PC, I strongly recommend reading everything to see if you understand it all first...

If English and you really don't get along, I can always translate a few passages for you.

I'm here for you! I assume it's to put in a more recent one?

I hesitate to embark on this perilous adventure before thoroughly reading the manual.
Can you translate the page that concerns me into French?

NOTE: The 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hard drive and the device that holds it in place are interchangeable.

The hard drive is held in place by two screws and a "security/device." To remove the hard drive and the security, the following steps must be taken:

1. Disconnect the power cord and all external devices (section 7.4.1).
2. Remove the battery (section 7.4.3).
3. Remove the CD/DVD drive (section 7.4.4).
4. Remove all expansion cards (PCMCIA) (section 7.4.5).
5. Lift the keyboard (section 7.7).
6. Remove the two screws and the security that hold the hard drive in place.
7. Slide the hard drive to the right.
8. Lift the hard drive out of its compartment.

Perform the procedures in reverse to replace the hard drive.

Basically, that's it :)

Hello,

The model "COMPAQ ARMADA 1573D" must be part of a branch of the 1500 or 1500c series:

Armada 1500c - Installing and Removing Mass Storage Devices - IN PICTURES

"Laurent...", you can see in the document you proposed (Compaq Armada 1500 Family Models - ".pdf"), that the model "COMPAQ ARMADA 1573D (Compaq Armada: Manuals In English)" is not referenced in the "Compaq Armada 1500 Family Models" series. It must be part of the 1500 or 1500c series; I haven't found it so far. SEE PAGE 184 out of 217.

Two lines between which we could see the model "COMPAQ ARMADA 1573D":

((SEE PAGE 184 out of 217 of the document "Compaq Armada 1500 Family Models" - ".pdf"))

Its model is part of the Compaq Armada 1500 series for laptops and not PCs.

No problem.

It’s a beautiful series of responses, well-crafted, well-written, very clear, with a great deal of research and translation: frankly admirable Laurent. :-)
