Hello,
I’m looking for a solution that would allow me to extend the range of a Wi-Fi network for my laptop (depending on the situation, I may or may not have access to the modem).
I’ve heard about Wi-Fi repeaters, which seem to match what I’m looking for, except that I won’t always have access to a power outlet, so a battery-powered Wi-Fi repeater would be ideal.
I spotted this model, Portable Cloud Wi-Fi Repeater DIR-506L.
Do you think it would meet my needs (and its effectiveness)?
Otherwise, I also thought about a Wi-Fi antenna connected to my laptop, but I have doubts about its effectiveness?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello, a WiFi repeater can be suitable if you have a weak WiFi signal. I also saw on the spec sheet that it can also serve as a hotspot and WiFi router (so you can share your connection). However, I have doubts about these capabilities since it runs on battery (I don't know if it can also operate while connected to a PC) and I doubt it will work long without being recharged.
