How to protect my USB drive (flash disk) with a password that will be requested when opening the flash drive

but beware, in case of password loss, or uninstallation of the software that helped create it, the key will be unreadable
it is better to try first with a file that is not important
and no password will prevent formatting the key

BitLocker The computers running Windows Vista and 7 (Professional and Premium editions only) have an option to encrypt an external drive. To do this, go to the drive (USB key, etc.), then right-click. Choose the option Enable BitLocker. In the next window, check: Use a password to unlock the drive. Enter and confirm your password, then follow the procedure.
