Hello everyone, here is my question which may be stupid but I have a huge doubt so I'm asking you, my motherboard is an Asus P5B-VM and when I launch the driver CD for the CD and DVD controller or hard disk I don't know which one to put,
as options I have either JMicron SCSI Driver - Support hot-plug features for SATA hard disks
or this one, Standard IDE Driver
it should be noted that my hard drive is SATA and I also have my DVD readers and burners connected via the IDE cable
or should I install both?
thank you for taking 5 minutes to reply that would be really nice because I fear I might make a big mistake! .

Hi,
what do you want to do exactly:
install a CD/DVD drive/burner?
install a new hard drive?

Hi, no I just want to know which one I should put, I have 2 DVD drives and a hard drive in SATA or if I should put both drivers.
In principle, Windows should have recognized your drives...
For your disk, it seems to me that the driver is only there to perform non-standard tasks, like hot-swapping SATA devices...
If Windows works, then don't touch anything...

Okay, got it. But since I'm having a problem with my drives, I was thinking that it might be due to the drivers installed on my computer.
In the device manager, under storage controllers, we have: Microsoft iSCSI Initiator, and when I install JMicron, I get the JMicron Initiator as well. I wanted to know if it's okay to leave it like that or if I should remove the JMicron Initiator.

Please, someone kind could answer me, that would honestly be cool!
Should I install the JMicron driver or not?

It's really not easy for me to explain this like this; when all three hard drives are connected in my tower, the drive makes a strange noise, a sort of rotation that goes up and down, whether it's SATA or IDE and whether it's in the tower or in an external enclosure.
To tell you, I've gone back three times to exchange the drive thinking it was a defective one (the SATA is new), but by disconnecting the two hard drives on the IDE cable, there’s no more noise, so I thought maybe there's a problem with the drivers.
I don't think this happens with everything that has multiple hard drives, so maybe by explaining my problem, I will find the answers to my questions.
