Hello everyone,
I have a computer that crashed and a repair technician put the internal hard drive in an enclosure. I started to recover some of the data to an external hard drive and today I want to finish this, but the computer no longer recognizes the internal hard drive in the enclosure (even though the light is on).
The hard drive does not appear in "Disk Management" (Disk 1 Unknown Not Initialized) while it does appear in Device Manager (Disk Drives: JMicron Generic SCSI Disk Device).
How can I recover my data? Do you have any ideas?

The JMicron recognized in the devices is the adapter housing that is on the USB; it is not the actual drive that has been placed inside this housing... Which, in turn, is not recognized by Windows...
My first question was to know if it is recognized in the BIOS...?? Not in Windows.
It is the brands and models of the drive that is in the housing that would be more relevant...
And, in my opinion, it would be more suitable to place this drive in a tower as a secondary drive, to have a direct connection to the bus and retrieve the files... if that is still possible.... Because everything needed to be recovered without interruption, as long as the drive was still recognized.
The "Uninitialized" is not good.

So yes, it must be the brand...(???) however, I see that the required current is 1500mA... But a USB port only provides 500mA, so it can't work, just for a current reason...
Your case must be powered by an external source of about 2 Amps... Or install the drive only in a tower...

That said, it is still quite old... It is marked "Obsolete" on the website, it may very well have reached its hours and become inaccessible as well... the DOC is not precise on this subject nor on the power consumption...
Depending on whether you connect it via USB2 or USB3, it can also be very different.. because this drive is not designed to work over USB, the access times being very very different... what applies to an HDD over a USB connection does not always hold true for SSDs.
