Hello everyone,
I need to understand certain things, and I know I can find some answers here.
Here’s the issue: When I start my PC, I have to go into the BIOS to update it. What I mean is that every time I turn it on, I have to set the date and time again.
Even if I save these changes, it doesn't hold them.
Could this be due to the motherboard? If so, how can I resolve the issue without replacing it?
If it's not that, where could it be coming from?? I haven’t installed any new software that could cause this problem. Would formatting the PC resolve the issue? Knowing that formatting is my last option.
So if you have any ideas, I'm all ears. Thank you.

Hi,
You should know that the computer "retains" the time thanks to a flat battery located on the motherboard.
Open the case and you should see it easily; there's a good chance that it is the one causing the problem.
motherboard change the motherboard battery
You will need to replace it with another identical battery, in size, voltage, and amperage. -
Very well, thank you. I read even more the link you gave me and the symptoms it lists are exactly those of my PC. I will therefore tackle this task. Thank you again for the help.

Hi,
For your information:
CR2032 battery reference
20 = diameter in mm
32 = thickness in 1/10 mm
You can also find it at photographers.
