Computer clock keeps getting out of sync

Hello,
I'm not very good with computers and for the past three or four days, my computer has never been on time. I set it, and if by chance the computer doesn't work and goes to sleep, the clock doesn't run.

The most likely probability is that the small battery on the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Advice: if the computer is still under warranty, contact customer service.
If not, and if you're not knowledgeable about this, consult a professional or at least not a weekend handyman. It's a simple operation that only takes a few minutes if you have the battery, but if you mess it up without knowing what you're doing, you could also fry the motherboard.

Good evening, it's great to hear from you, but I'm surprised because my computer isn't even a year old yet. And to be honest, what is a "truc" battery????

The real answer is, even a new car can break down :-)
So yes, it's possible, and being less than a year old it's under warranty, so you should ask for this battery to be replaced for free.
(At worst, ask for the battery and do it yourself, if you have someone who knows a bit about it, you just need to be careful but it's really "just remove and replace"

Thanks for the info, it's probably the battery since my computer is over 7 years old.

Well, I think the battery is a real battery, "button cell" format, and it's made to power the memory.
I'm not sure.

That's it, in more detail here's the explanation:
The computer at first is just an assembly of complex but "inert" components. When a computer starts up, before "loading" Windows or any other operating system that will give it all the instructions to display what you see on the screen and also handle everything you will ask it, before this phase, the computer must have a series of instructions to manage all the hardware components. So, as soon as power is applied, it must know what to do with the CPU, the components on the motherboard, the expansions, the multiple other components, etc. Since Windows is not yet there, it is the famous BIOS that will take care of this. In the BIOS are all these instructions loaded from the factory during construction.

The BIOS itself does not need power to retain its information because it is a RAM memory (Random Access Memory), which means that once programmed, this memory remains as it is even without power. You can also reprogram this base memory (upgrade BIOS, but do it with caution).

So what is the purpose of the battery?
If the BIOS does not need power to keep its instructions, it is also the one that keeps the time value; there is therefore a small internal clock that requires power to continue functioning. If the button cell battery is dead, then the clock either stops or starts to lag.

The only impact is that the computer cannot keep the date; while it won't "wreck the PC," it can have unfortunate consequences in terms of usability.

Your post is super clear, now I better understand what the battery is for and how
the internal clock of the PC works.

Isn't it like in game cartridges? There's also a button cell inside.

Restart your PC and enter the BIOS setup to adjust the time and date.
When Windows opens, click on the time displayed on the taskbar at the bottom right, and set the time and date. Then, adjust the internet time, enable update, and apply. Shut down your PC and leave it for a few minutes, then try again; it's 100% useful.
