Windows 7 clock keeps losing time

Hello, the time on my Windows keeps getting out of sync. At first, I thought it might be the BIOS battery being dead, but the problem occurs even when I'm using the computer. I can't find the source of the issue; I've scanned the computer with antivirus several times and found nothing positive.

If anyone has experienced the same problem...

Yes, it is set like this, and the next update is in a week, so it's something else that is causing it to go out of sync.

The problem may come from the RTC chip (real-time clock). Find the quartz to locate it, then use a magnifying glass to check the physical condition of the components.

I’m not going to dismantle the whole laptop with the motherboard to look for it; that seems too complicated when it might just be a problem related to Windows...

If the problem persists after doing what our friend lacharpente indicated, I'm afraid you have a serious issue.

Have you checked the integrity of your OS?

In a command prompt opened as administrator

But if it was a battery problem, the time should only get messed up when the PC is turned off, right? Yet it changes even when it's on...

Is your battery good?
Are you in the right time zone?
Have you set a time server? (time.windows.com)

I assume the battery is fine since the laptop is relatively new, the time zone is correctly set, as well as the server. The next update is in a week, so it's something else that's causing the issue...

Good evening,
Go to Device Manager, expand System devices, right-click on System Clock, Uninstall.
Ignore the warning.
Restart the PC, it will reinstall itself, then see how it goes.

Check your BIOS to see if the time and date are set correctly.

I looked, but the BIOS time is set to the Windows time, so when Windows changes, the BIOS time changes too...

No, it's the opposite; if the BIOS time is not correct, the Windows time will be the same.
Have you tried setting the correct time in the BIOS and saving it by exiting?
If it doesn't stay, it could well be that the battery is dead.

There is indeed a problem, because when starting up, the time in the BIOS is correct, and when I'm in Windows, the time changes, and when I restart again, the time in the BIOS also changes, so it's the time that has changed in Windows that sets a wrong time in the BIOS (unless the BIOS can change the time while Windows is running?).

I think I'll reinstall Windows because this is becoming absurd...
