Scale of document to print still 97%?

Hello,

When I want to print a document via Preview, the document scale in the print window defaults to 97% even though I configure a preset where I set a scale of 100%.

I can’t find the cause of this phenomenon.

Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hello,

Probably due to the margins necessary for the printer to operate, it doesn’t allow 100%. An A4 sheet is 21 x 29.7, but a printer can rarely print on the full surface.

      Thank you for your reply.
No, the printer isn’t the problem, because I can manually adjust the scale and set it to 100%. But what annoys me is that I have to redo this correction with every new print... and individual prints here are frequent.

If manual correction works, we should be able to save the printer settings as the default settings... right? example:

To insert an image, you must respond via the "Reply to topic" button to get a window with this button:

For the topic, on your screenshot you can see that you rename a preset, but it does not show that this preset is designated as the default preset...

I keep starting from the default preset, but it doesn’t work.

Weird... locked or corrupted preference files? a bad manipulation?

What happens when copying the print preferences files from the brother to replace the current files.

These files are user-specific, for example in my case:

If the user library is hidden, you can access it from the Finder's Go menu while holding the Alt key...

I did what you proposed: it still doesn’t change anything.
However, my brother and I only have one file "com.apple.print..."; it is "com.apple.print.makequeues". We do not have as many as you.
So that’s the only one I copied.
Here is my brother’s complete preferences file:

This folder does not appear to come from the user’s Library, but from the main Library’s Preferences folder.
There are several Libraries under Mac OS, a minimum of 3, or more in case of multiple user sessions, namely this scheme:
      - Hard drive / Library
      - Hard drive / System / Library
      - Hard drive / Users / user_name / Library ....

      You’re right.
I found the right folder, I did the exchange but, alas, it still doesn’t work properly.
My friend is nagging me to switch to Yosemite: is he right?

      Hello,

Passing under Yosemite should not change this behavior. I don’t know the reasons for it, but if it works in one session (with the same OS X version), it should also work in another session. There is surely a moment, in the options, where the choice is not made correctly.
As for Yosemite versus Mavericks... it depends on taste regarding the presentation, the new icons, etc... Yosemite has mainly been developed, in my opinion, for a greater and better integration of synchronizations between the different devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad, iCloud, etc...)

Certainly, I don’t understand anything about it. The only extra detail I can provide is that during the first half-second of opening the print panel (cmd+p), the scale is shown at 100% and then immediately drops to 97%.
