Hello everyone,
So here it is, I have the possibility of having a speed of 1 Gbit, I was wondering what that means, if it's a good connection and how much I would roughly get in upload and download. Thanks in advance!

Hello

1 gbit/s is the highest speed offered to individuals by traditional operators.

download 1gbit/s - upload 200 mbit/s

I'll let you look up the conversion to MB/s ;)

If I understand correctly, this connection would allow me to do high-quality live streams without encountering any issues?

Live streaming, like on TWITCH for example, the act of playing and broadcasting live on a platform. I will change my question because I realize I'm drifting off the subject; my last question would be whether with this connection, I would have an upload speed greater than 0.80 Mbps? Thank you for your response and have a good evening.

Oh I don't know at all, I'm not familiar with Twitch ^^

"Will I have an upload speed higher than 0.80 Mbps?" Well, reread what I wrote initially....
200 Mbps, in my opinion, is higher than 0.80 Mbps :)

Hi,
wow, there are some clueless people in the neighborhood,
come on, middle school revision:
https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pr%C3%A9fixe_du_syst%C3%A8me_international
PS,
1Gbit/s is only on point-to-point fiber.
And... by design in this case it's 1 Gbit/s in both directions, the speed is only artificially limited beyond the link.
And currently there's nothing better on public connections as indicated by Ben.

And... there you go!

Let's wait for his bandwidth result, and we'll see afterwards!
Depending on his current subscription and what is being offered to him.

What I want to know is what he has, with which plan? At what price; and what are they offering him? With whom? Orange as well or another provider? At what price? etc.
So line test, to know not his downstream speed, which will vary from one test to another, but whether he is in total or partial unbundling, his attenuation rate, etc., and if he is eligible for fiber or cable
See you tomorrow.

Good evening
a bandwidth of 1 Gbit?
that's not huge, it's even a little! well, it's still better than 512 MB...
are you in a fully or partially unbundled area?
what is the length of your line? which operator are you with currently?

Currently at Orange, I didn't understand the meaning of your other questions, sorry!

1 Gbit/s not huge???
And 512 MB??? Maybe 512 kbit/s...

There's work to do ^^

yes, my bad 1 gbit/s is huge, but I don't think he's talking about downstream bandwidth... unless he's wired, but definitely not on ADSL!
I think it should have been read as kb/s and I responded based on that
to make sure and not talk nonsense
the best:
type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and then confirm
- type admin/admin as username/password and then confirm
- with a Livebox 2 Sagem, click on the "configuration" tab and then go to system information
- with a Livebox 2 ZTE, click on the assistance/advanced assistance & customer support/system information/ADSL tab
- copy/paste the following values:
1.14 Upstream attenuation: ?? dB
1.15 Downstream attenuation: ?? dB
1.16 Upstream noise margin: ?? dB
1.17 Downstream noise margin: ?? dB
1.18 Maximum upstream bitrate: ?? kb/s
1.19 Maximum downstream bitrate: ?? kb/s

With a Livebox Play, once you're on the configuration page via 192.168.1.1, type the password in the upper right corner of the screen, then go to assistance/system information/DSL and copy/paste the following values:

Bitrate and noise margin
2.5 upstream DSL synchronization bitrate xx Kb/s
2.6 downstream DSL synchronization bitrate xx Kb/s
2.7 downstream noise margin xx dB

No, but it serves no purpose ^^

"I don't think he's talking about downstream bandwidth," well no, it's you who talked about it.
"I think it should have read kb/s," well no, it's fiber.

Come on, one last one, the person wrote 'I have the possibility of having a speed of 1Gbits," so he doesn't have it, and in his box, well he won't know more...

I know it's getting late, a good sleep and everything will be better tomorrow :)
