Unplayable AVI file

Hello,

I watch AVI video files on my television using my USB stick. However, some files of the same format are unreadable (playback unavailable). I noticed that in the file information on my television, neither the resolution nor the duration was indicated for these files, while those that work show something.

I wanted to put portable VLC on my USB stick but it doesn't work, maybe I'm not using it correctly!

Can someone tell me how I can make these files playable on my television, so that all the data appears? (I should specify that they are completely playable on my computer).

Thank you in advance!!!!!!

Anne-Laure

Configuration: Mac OS X (10.10.2) / Safari 8.0.4

Hello
AVI is not a format but a container, you can put whatever you want inside!!!

So the AVIs that don't work are AVIs with codecs that the TV can't understand.

You will need to convert with ... for example ... Avidemux
available versions at http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html
