Hello,
I am working with Office 2007 and I also get the same message "An error occurred while sending a command to the program" when clicking directly on the Excel file. I uninstalled all of Office and reinstalled it, but I still get the same message!!!
Thank you for helping me resolve this
Configuration: Windows 7 / Mozilla 11.0

Hello,
We have encountered this issue in other discussions before.
The solution seems to be:
Go to the "File" tab, select "Options"
Then choose "Advanced options" and look for the option titled
"Ignore other applications that use dynamic data exchange"
For me, it is located in the "General" section of the advanced options.
Uncheck the box
to Test

Best regards,
Thank you very much, it's all been resolved!
If you are working with Excel 2007 (which is my case), you choose the Office button at the top left, the system displays the commands new, open... and at the bottom right there are two buttons, one is "Excel Options" and the other is "Exit Excel", you click on "Excel Options" and select "Advanced Options" from the options, you will find "Editing Options" "Cut, Copy and Paste"... finally you will find "General" and among the checkboxes, "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange".
Good luck
