First of all, hello everyone, the title limiting me to a certain number of characters, I specify it longer:
" MP3 files cannot replace/delete album images/covers (ID3v2 Tag) " .
So here is my problem, when I listen to music on my smartphone, sometimes album covers appear in the background. The problem is that they have nothing to do with the music in question...
I did some research and learned about the existence of ID3v2 tags, which allow you to give a title, artist name, album cover, etc. to a song.
I used the Mp3tag software to manage all the ID3v2 tags. The problem is that no matter how much I try, nothing works; the album covers mentioned above do not go away...
Before posting, I did several tests, so I will try to be as clear as possible:
- By adding the ID3v2 tags (Title, Artist Name, Album Cover) everything displays correctly when I play the audio file with VLC on my PC.
- On my smartphone (which is a XIAOMI MI-3 for info) only the "Title" and "Artist Name" tags are used properly (knowing that I only use the "Title", "Artist Name", and "Album Cover" tags).
- When I try to replace the unwanted album cover with a cover related to the music, my smartphone still displays the unwanted cover.
- I tried to put an album cover on a file that did not display an unwanted cover, but again, nothing works; my smartphone displays nothing.
- I do not have (unless they are hidden) the unwanted album covers on my smartphone.
- I also tried to delete all the ID3v2 tags from my audio files with Mp3tag, but again, nothing works; still this cover problem...
So I am starting to run out of ideas, and that is why I am posting here.
Is it due to the ID3v2 tags? To my smartphone? To the images I use as covers (dimensions, extensions...)? Or to something I am still unaware of?
If someone could shed some light on the subject, it would help me a lot ^^ ...
Thank you in advance for your answers ;D .

Hi
Aren't there images in the folders of your MP3s?

Hi, No as I mentioned earlier. I don't have those images on my smartphone (to my knowledge that's why I specified "unless they are hidden").

Well, in the end, I solved my issue ^^.
I place my tags directly from my phone using the app "iTag" which even offers an image search system based on the artist's name for example.
And I had to change my audio and video player to "Poweramp".
(Free for 2 weeks then 3 euros).
Because even with iTag, my old audio player wouldn't display or replace the old covers :/ ...
The combo of these two apps is working well for now, so I think I'll stick with that, there you go, problem solved!
