Connect my router to my 4G dongle

Hello,

I have:
- a Huawei 4G Wi-Fi modem
- a D-Link DSL-G624T Wi-Fi router (without USB port).
- a photovoltaic panel inverter with an RJ45 port that needs to broadcast its electricity production online

I need to configure my router to connect to my 4G key via Wi-Fi.

I have no idea how to do this... Should I open the router's interface or the 4G key's interface?

On the router interface, IP 192.168.8.1 from a PC connected via an Ethernet cable, I access a menu where I can choose between
pppoe/pppoa
Dynamic IP address
Static IP address
Bridge Mode

But I don't know what all this means...

Where do I go on the router to enter the SSID name and password of my 4G key?
IP of my 4G key: http://192.168.8.1

In short, I am totally lost... Could you please help me?

    The DSL-G624T is a wireless ADSL modem/router designed solely for connecting to ADSL.

    What is the model of your Huawei 4G Wi-Fi modem?
    If it’s Wi-Fi, it is also a router, right?

    If that’s the case, what exactly do you want to do?

    Description of what I want to do:

    I will have solar panels connected to an inverter that injects power into the ERDF grid. The inverter has an Ethernet card with an RJ45 port to monitor production remotely.

    In theory, you just need to connect the inverter to a box with an Ethernet cable. After that, you can go to the manufacturer's website to track production.

    However, in my case, the inverter is on an isolated site. Therefore, I do not have a box nearby.

    That's why I have a Huawei 4G Wi-Fi modem to access the internet via 4G.
    But this modem only has a USB output... I cannot connect it to either my inverter or the router via Ethernet... as they only have RJ45 ports!

    My idea was to connect the D-Link router to the inverter with an RJ45 cable and connect it to the Wi-Fi of the 4G modem.
    But I can't manage to do that...

    Hello dalba16,

    I don't know which Huawei modem model you are using, but if it connects via USB, there is no way to connect them together.

    However, if you are using a router like the DWR-116, it is designed to receive a 3G/4G key and therefore do what you are looking for...

    For the 4G modem, it's the E5372 GP (provided by Bouygues).

    I'm afraid I might also have to buy another router...

      while reading the documentation for your 4G router (http://files.customersaas.com/files/Huawei_E5372_BBOX_Nomad_Mode_d%27emploi.pdf), I’m not sure that you can connect it to a product like the DWR-116 (or equivalents) because they use 4G USB keys. In your case, all the 4G connection part is managed by your router and not by the one connected behind it. You will likely need to consider a 4G Ethernet router like the DWR-921 (http://www.dlink.com/fr/fr/support/product/dwr-921-4g-lte-router), which is the same model as your router but with RJ45 ports...
