Macro buttons that disappear

Solved

Hello everyone,

I've been putting off tackling this problem for quite some time now, but as I near the completion of this Excel file, I need to try to solve it. Since your insights have already been more than illuminating for me, I turn to you once more.

I have an Excel file in which I hide several rows if the user doesn't need to fill them out. On these rows, there are macro buttons. These buttons are configured with the properties: Move and size with the cell.

When I make these rows reappear, the buttons are gone. I want to emphasize that when the program starts, certain cells are cleared of their contents. These buttons are not affected and I made sure they aren't in contact with those cells. Should I be paying even closer attention to this and is that the issue?

Thank you in advance for reading my message and while I wait for a solution to keep these mischievous buttons in place, I send you my best regards.

      Hello f894009,

Thank you for doing the test. It proves that the issue is indeed on my end.

It is difficult for me to provide the file for you.
I apologize and I am aware that this makes it nearly impossible to assist me.

A makeshift solution has been implemented. I'm okay with it, but only to an extent.

I am leaving the question open, in case someone else has experienced the same issue and found a professional workaround.

f894009, I thank you again for the time taken for the test and for writing to me.
I send you my best regards.

        Hello,

for the file, if necessary, only keep the tab in question by removing everything that bothers, including the code.

You need to recreate your button, go to Shape Format -> Properties -> "Don't move or size with cells".

Thus, any modification/deletion of rows/columns will have no effect on the dimensions/position of the buttons.

    Hello / Good evening,
The cause of the problem has been found, not the solution but a workaround.
The cause was that since I was hiding lines where these buttons were, they flattened out and thus were no longer visible.
What disturbed me was that this happened after a few uses.
Workaround applied: I dropped the buttons and implemented clicking on a predefined cell with a specific color.
    Since then, no more problems.
