Hello everyone :)

I would like to know which wire corresponds to the CPU fan connection on a Dell Optiplex 780 (tower) to a PWM adapter. Could someone inform me about this subject?

One wire gives me doubt :/

Here is the Dell fan from which I retrieved the wires with the connector. (dead fan)
4 wires, yellow, red, black, and blue.

And the PWM adapter that I cannot connect to my motherboard.
4 wires as well, but not the same colors, black, yellow, blue, and green.

Which wire connects to which????

Thank you :)

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 39.0.2171.71

    Being stubborn helps, after more than 15 days of searching everywhere, I finally found it :)

    This photo helped me:

    With this one too:

    We can see that black remains black
    that the red coming from the Dell motherboard is the 12V, which will connect to the yellow
    the blue remains blue
    and the yellow coming from the Dell motherboard becomes green.

    Summary:

    Dell \ / PWM
    \ /
    black = black
    red = yellow
    yellow = green
    blue = blue

    For those who are interested and might help ;)

    My PC didn’t catch fire, no power cut, the CPU fan is running properly.
    It seems to be working.
