Hello,
I would like to buy a new graphics card for Christmas, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with my motherboard x) ... I'm planning to "boost" my PC to be able to run future games that will be released ^^ here's my current configuration:

RAM: DDR3 8gb
Processor: Intel Core I5-4430
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX650 1gb
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M51AC Rev X.0x

I plan to replace my current graphics card with either an nVidia GeForce GTX980 4gb or an nVidia GeForce GTX780 ti 3gb, which would give this:

RAM: DDR3 8gb
Processor: Intel Core I5-4430
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX980 4gb / nVidia GeForce GTX780 ti 3gb
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M51AC Rev X.0x

So, I have two questions ^^ :
-Are these graphics cards compatible with my motherboard?
-In your opinion, which of these two graphics cards has better performance? I remind you that it's for video gaming, gaming ^^

Thank you all, hoping to read your responses soon ;)

    Hi there! :)
The GTX980 is better (for my part, I upgraded from a 660 to the 980 and it's perfect)

And for compatibility, go to: https://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic.php

Enter your configuration, and if it's not compatible, it won't suggest it to you ;)

Thank you Alex ;) Yes, I was also thinking about switching to the 980 but I wanted confirmation ;) however, for the configuration, I can't find my motherboard among the bunch :'( I'll look again on the internet but for now I can't find anything...

You surprise me, what is this strange and questionable motherboard x)
Aside from the TopAchat config, I don't know if there are any compatibility testers :/

According to my config.com, this is it:

Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M51AC Rev X.0x

      Motherboard serial number: 131017391001280
      SKU Number: All
      BIOS version: 0901
      Date: 25/07/2013

I copied/pasted it, it's exactly what it says ^^ It's a PC that I bought online pre-built for about 750 euros, I don't know if the motherboard is of really good quality, back then I knew much less about computers, I saw GTX and 8GB of RAM and I took it x)

According to what I've seen on a JVC forum, it's compatible with the 660, so I'm thinking about the 980, but the information coming from JVC might be questionable ^^ and it's from a few years ago, so I don't know if it's really compatible, sorry :/

      Hi

Uh, and you might also have a crappy power supply and a case that's too small unfortunately :-/

Oh :'( I’m going to open my PC this weekend to see how much space I have inside... As for compatibility, it seems that ASUS is often very compatible, so I hope that will be the case here too :)
By the way, quick question, does the power supply matter a lot or not? I don't know which power supply I have though x) even on maconfig.com they don't mention it... There you go, anyway, thank you very much to you ^^
