How to safely move the AppData folder?

Hello everyone!!

I visited many forums before asking my question, but the answers were quite unclear to me, so I turn to you hoping you can enlighten me!

So here it is: I have a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM, but my problem is that I have almost no space left on the C: drive. I've already moved the Music, Videos, etc. folders to the D: drive, but the problem is that the space on the C: drive has only decreased since then... Today, I have less than 1 GB free and it's very annoying!

By doing some research, I found that my AppData folder located in my user profile is no less than 10 GB!!! It would be great if I could recover that space by moving AppData to the D: drive, but the problem is that I know the AppData folder contains a lot of system files and others that allow my programs to function properly, so I'm afraid that moving it could cause issues.

I’ve heard of a method that involves creating a second administrator account and changing the folder location with Regedit, but once again, I'm very afraid that this could affect my programs, and given that I play a lot of video games and have many heavy programs (Photoshop, Poser Pro, etc.)... Well, you get it.

I hope you can help me find a safe way to move this folder, or at least help me free up space on C: (a lot of space preferably!!)

Thanks...

Hello koopazz, no personal solution sorry but...

@Fermiparadox
Is that it? There must be a solution... that I'm looking for as well...
As for me, my new 60GB SSD is filling up through this "AppData" file which is about 12GB like our author and I'm not installing anything on it.

There must be a solution to move or direct these files to another location.

Anyone?

No one else

Move, Remove or reduce the padding? I have 5 GB of free space left and it's decreasing every day...

With a lot of research, I partially found what is taking up space on my C: drive ssd
It's the backup files from my phone on iTunes, I deleted them from iTunes and freed up some space

there you go.

If your drives c: and d: are partitions of the same hard drive, you can decrease the size of d: and create unallocated space that allows you to increase c:.

I don't have a partition on my C: it's a 60GB SSD. I don't install anything on it, just iTunes, CCleaner, antivirus, very light software, that’s all.
But the size increases every day.
