Hello,
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 37.0.2062.120
I had my phone in my pocket and I accidentally unlocked it. When I took it out of my pocket, it didn’t offer me the fingerprint option anymore but asked for the backup password instead. The thing is, I forgot my backup password :( and I have no way to go back! I can’t do anything except the options with the lock button and emergency calls. I can obviously receive calls, but everything else is blocked.
Basically, I need a way to return to my fingerprint option or at worst, reset my phone. I’ve already tried restarting it and removing the battery... no luck :( please help me :(

You have two options available to you: the Soft Reset with no data loss but a phone reset, and the Hard Reset.
Soft Reset [Phone reset without data loss]
1 - Turn off your phone
2 - Press and hold the Power / Lock button for 2-3 seconds and the phone will restart. Wait about 10 seconds, then press the Power / Lock button again to restart
Hard Reset [Factory reset]
1 - Turn off your phone
2 - Press and hold the Home + Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously until the recovery menu appears.
3 - Choose wipe data/factory reset using the volume buttons to navigate and the Power button to confirm.
4 - Choose Yes - erase all user data. Please wait for the deletion to complete.
5 - Finally, select Reboot System Now in the main Recovery menu to restart your mobile.-
Hello, I have the same problem with my Samsung S5 except that it's with the password (or PIN code as it's called) but it's not really a PIN since you can change it at will. I have tried all the passwords (in numbers) that I have recently used or remember (knowing that you can change them as soon as you activate it) but nothing works.
Can you please help me?
Thank you. -
